Shallipopi halts public comments on dispute with former manager Dapper

Nigerian singer Shallipopi has announced he will cease public discussions regarding his legal dispute with former manager Damilola Akinwumi, also known as Dapper. The decision follows advice from his legal team and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which is currently investigating allegations of financial misconduct and contractual violations.

Shallipopi previously accused Dapper and Dapper Music of withholding royalties, forging a ten-year agreement, and conducting catalogue transactions without proper financial accounting. The singer noted that while he stands firmly behind his claims, he will refrain from using social media, interviews, or music to address the matter to avoid interfering with the official investigation.

Dapper Music has denied the accusations, maintaining that all agreements establish legitimate ownership. The company has offered its records for independent forensic audits to provide transparency regarding contracts and financial transactions.
