Shambhavi Choudhary meets Bihar CM over women's safety

Shambhavi Choudhary of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) met with Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to demand improved safety for women and girls in the state. In a letter submitted to the Chief Minister, Choudhary called for speedy, impartial investigations and effective prosecution in cases of sexual harassment and violence, noting that such crimes create an atmosphere of insecurity and fear.

The meeting follows public outrage triggered by two recent incidents in Bihar: a video showing indecent behavior toward a young girl in Samastipur district and an alleged assault involving a student in Jamui district. While police officials stated that action has been initiated against the primary accused in both cases, the situation has drawn political criticism. Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj, also criticized the state government's handling of the law and order situation.
