Shane Beamer faces job uncertainty at South Carolina

College football analyst Josh Pate has expressed doubt regarding the future of South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer, suggesting his tenure may have ‘run its course’. Beamer holds a career record of 35-32, though he has struggled in SEC play with a 16-26 mark. His current contract runs through 2030, with total obligations estimated near $50 million and a potential buyout of approximately $27.9 million.

Other prominent coaches facing scrutiny include USC’s Lincoln Riley, whose buyout is near $72 million following a lack of College Football Playoff appearances, and Colorado’s Deion Sanders, who faces a potential $25.5 million buyout amid a 2-2 start to the season.
