Shane MacGowan tribute album features U2 and Bruce Springsteen

A complete lineup of artists has been announced for ‘20th Century Paddy - The Songs of Shane MacGowan’, a tribute album honoring the late frontman of The Pogues. The project, initiated by his wife Victoria Mary Clark in collaboration with Rubyworks, fulfills a long-held wish of MacGowan to create such a collection.

The album features a wide array of international and Irish performers, including U2, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Johnny Depp, Imelda May, Bob Geldof, Hozier, and the Dropkick Murphys. U2 has released a lyric video for their cover of ‘Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah’. Other notable contributions include Springsteen’s version of ‘A Rainy Night in Soho’ and Johnny Depp and Imelda May’s rendition of ‘Haunted’.

Scheduled for release on November 13, the project carries a charitable mission: at least 50% of the artists' royalties will be donated to the Dublin Simon Community. This organization provides housing and medical support to people experiencing homelessness, a cause MacGowan supported throughout his life.
