Shane McClanahan ruled out for remainder of Rays postseason
Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash announced that left-hander Shane McClanahan will be ruled out for the remainder of the postseason due to left forearm tightness. McClanahan has been placed on the 15-day injured list following his final start of the season on September 3.
McClanahan, who posted a 10-7 record with a 3.36 ERA this season, had been working toward a significant comeback after a lengthy recovery from Tommy John surgery. Despite the setback, Cash expressed gratitude for McClanahan’s contributions, noting his potential for Comeback Player of the Year honors.
The Rays will proceed into the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians without him. The team is expected to utilize a four-man rotation, with Drew Rasmussen expected to lead the staff.
