Shane Richie banned from driving for six months after speeding

Actor Shane Richie has been issued a six-month driving ban after admitting to a speeding charge. The 62-year-old, known for his role as Alfie Moon in EastEnders, appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court where Magistrate Sheila Hewitt also ordered him to pay a £500 fine, £120 in costs, and a £200 victim surcharge.

This ruling follows a separate legal matter. Richie is currently awaiting a trial scheduled for November 17, 2027, regarding an allegation of drink-driving. It is alleged that while driving in Harlow, Essex, on July 29, he provided a breath sample of 65 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Richie denies the drink-driving allegation.
