The 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from August 31 to September 1, 2026, marking the organization's 25th anniversary. The summit, held under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan, brought together leaders from ten member states, including China, Russia, India, Iran, and Pakistan, to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and the transition toward a multipolar world.

A key outcome of the summit was the adoption of the Bishkek Declaration along with 28 other agreements. Discussions focused on enhancing digital transformation, energy security, transport connectivity, and the potential establishment of an SCO Development Bank. Member states also addressed regional stability, emphasizing the fight against terrorism, religious extremism, and transnational crime.

On the sidelines of the summit, various bilateral meetings took place, including discussions between Laos and Belarus, and Laos and India. China's President Xi Jinping also utilized the period to propose a four-point initiative for Middle East security, emphasizing sovereignty, development, and international coordination through the UN. Following the summit, Pakistan has officially assumed the SCO chairmanship for the 2026–27 term, with a focus on regional connectivity and innovation.
