Shanghai Ravioli Corporation recalls 24,900 pounds of uninspected buffalo chicken

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a Class I recall for approximately 24,900 pounds of frozen buffalo chicken products manufactured by the Boston-based Shanghai Ravioli Corporation. The recall was triggered after officials discovered the products were produced without the required federal inspection and bore false inspection marks for establishment “EST. 18004,” which does not hold a federal grant of inspection.

The affected items are not-ready-to-eat products manufactured between July 8, 2025, and June 29, 2026. The two specific products involved are “Buffalo Chicken Rangoon” (100 pieces per case) and “Benedetto’s Buffalo Chicken Mozzarella Stick” (120 pieces per case). Both products feature sell-by dates ranging from July 8, 2026, through June 29, 2027.

The products were distributed to foodservice establishments across five New England states: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, regulators warn that uninspected food poses risks of undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants. Foodservice operators are instructed to discard the items or return them to the supplier.
