Shania Twain releases autobiographical album “Little Miss Twain”

Canadian singer‑songwriter Shania Twain has issued her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, on Republic Records. The 15‑track record blends country, pop, rock, soul and bluegrass while tracing the artist’s childhood in Timmins, Ontario, and the musical influences that shaped her sound. Singles such as “Dirty Rosie,” “Little Miss Twain” and “Faded Blue Jeans” introduce the deeply personal narrative, and the album features collaborators including Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age.

In promotion, Twain reflected on the hardships that preceded the release – a poverty‑stricken upbringing, the 1990 loss of her mother and stepfather, a public split from producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange and a battle with Lyme disease that damaged her vocal cords. She said those experiences taught her resilience and now inform the autobiographical themes of the new record.
