Abhijit Vaghani says AI streamlines Bollywood music production

Music composer and producer Abhijit Vaghani, with 27 years in Bollywood, told IANS that artificial intelligence helps composers avoid the awkward task of explaining to singers why their voice does not fit a song. He said AI can evaluate vocal suitability, eliminating the need for personal rejection and reducing studio‑time for scratch singing.

Vaghani also noted that the diverse nature of Hindi film music means there is no single genre to rely on; composers must draw from a wide array of styles, and AI assists in managing this variety.

The remarks were made at his studio in Andheri West, Mumbai, highlighting a growing industry affinity for AI tools in music‑making.
