SHANLING announces EC Zero T MAX high-end portable CD player

SHANLING, via MUSIN, has announced the release of the EC Zero T MAX, a high-end portable CD player scheduled for sale on September 25, 2026. Building upon the previous EC Zero T model, this upgraded version features optimized R2R DAC technology and an enhanced headphone amplifier circuit.

The device utilizes SHANLING’s proprietary 24-bit R2R DAC module, known as ‘Kunlun’, which employs 192 high-precision resistors to provide a more natural analog conversion compared to standard Delta-Sigma architectures. The amplifier has been upgraded with the AD8397 chip, allowing for a maximum output of 1300mW at 32Ω via the 4.4mm balanced output even when running on battery power.

Additional features include dual JAN6418 vacuum tubes for a classic sound profile, which can be toggled on or off. The unit is housed in a CNC-machined aluminum chassis in titanium gray and includes a 5,500mAh battery. It also functions as a USB DAC, supporting PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD512. The device supports Bluetooth transmission via aptX Adaptive, aptX, and SBC codecs.
