Sharad Purnima 2026: Hindu festival observed on October 25

Sharad Purnima, also known as Kojagari Purnima or Raas Purnima, will be celebrated on Sunday, October 25, 2026. According to the Hindu calendar, the Purnima Tithi begins at 11:55 AM on October 25 and concludes at 9:41 AM on October 26.

The festival holds significant religious importance for devotees of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Krishna. Traditions include performing night-long vigils, worshipping Goddess Lakshmi to seek prosperity, and placing rice kheer under the moonlight. It is believed that on this night, the moon reaches its full sixteen kalas (phases), and its rays possess medicinal and spiritual properties.

Astrological observations for 2026 note the presence of auspicious yogas such as Harshan, Ravi, and Sarvartha Siddhi. However, some reports also mention the retrograde motion of Mercury and Venus, alongside a Saturn-Moon conjunction, which practitioners suggest may influence mental well-being and decision-making.
