Shardendu Tiwari leaves Amazon job to join Indian Army
Shardendu Tiwari, a 27-year-old cloud engineer from Lucknow, has resigned from a high-paying position at Amazon to join the Indian Army. Tiwari, who held an annual salary package of approximately INR 46 lakh, also reportedly received a job offer from the aerospace company Airbus before deciding to pursue a military career.
A second-generation soldier and the son of Honorary Captain Raj Kumar Tiwari, Shardendu Tiwari demonstrated significant perseverance by clearing the selection process on his eighth attempt. He is set to be commissioned as an officer at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya, Bihar.
Tiwari holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology and an MTech in Computer Science and Information Security from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He cited the thrill, adventure, and personal satisfaction of military life as his primary motivations for leaving the corporate sector.
