Shardul Thakur to miss Mumbai Ranji Trophy match against Haryana
Mumbai all-rounder Shardul Thakur will miss the upcoming Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match against Haryana at the BKC Complex due to a finger injury. Thakur, who fractured his right middle finger during a training session prior to the season's opening round, has resumed training with the squad but has not yet regained full match fitness.
Mumbai management has decided not to rush his return, opting to retain the squad that recently secured an innings victory over Himachal Pradesh. The team is currently managing several absences, including vice-captain Ayush Mhatre, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is in New Zealand for upcoming Test series.
While sidelined from competitive play, Thakur is expected to undertake commentary duties during India’s T20I series against New Zealand. The match against Haryana serves as a high-stakes encounter between the top two teams in the group, as both sides have won their opening two matches.
