Sharjah expands technology and talent initiatives through new partnerships
The Emirate of Sharjah has entered into two significant strategic agreements aimed at advancing technology and human capital.
Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Telugu Information Technology Council (WTITC) to foster international cooperation. This partnership focuses on applied research, technology development, investment, and business expansion across Sharjah, the UAE, and the GCC region. It aims to connect WTITC’s global network of technology companies with Sharjah-based research institutions, startups, and investors.
Additionally, the University of Exeter and the Government of Sharjah have launched the Sharjah National Talents Programme. This initiative is designed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities of Sharjah civil servants. Over the next five years, approximately 500 government employees are expected to participate in bespoke postgraduate courses at the University of Exeter, utilizing a hybrid learning model that combines academic study with practical training and mentoring.
