Sharjah integrates Jaywan national card into Tahseel payment system
The Sharjah Finance Department has integrated the Jaywan national payment card into its Tahseel digital platform. This expansion allows residents to use the UAE’s first national card scheme to settle government fees and services through various channels, including the Tahseel website, mobile application, and physical service centers.
Jaywan is operated by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE. The scheme is designed to process domestic payments locally, enhancing data sovereignty and providing an alternative to international card networks. The integration into Tahseel—a platform used for real-time collection of government and semi-government fees—supports the UAE’s broader transition toward a locally developed digital payment infrastructure.
According to department reports, the Tahseel system recorded over 558 transactions using Jaywan cards during the first half of 2026, following the initial transaction completed in September 2025.
