Sharjah Police investigate deaths of two Kazakh sisters

Sharjah Police have confirmed the deaths of two sisters from Kazakhstan, aged 20 and 22, who were discovered in an apartment in the emirate after being reported missing. The women had been living in the UAE for less than a year, having arrived in December to work at a beauty salon.

The investigation was initiated after relatives lost contact with the sisters on August 17. Prior to the police search, information circulated via WhatsApp suggested the women had been in contact with a Russian-speaking Kazakh man who had arranged their housing. The sisters were reportedly planning to return to Kazakhstan in early September to visit family.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the deaths, noting that the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Dubai is providing consular and legal support to the family. The remains of the two women were repatriated to Kazakhstan on August 28 with the assistance of Sharjah Police. Authorities are continuing an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of their deaths and have stated that a formal report will be released upon its conclusion.
