Sharkia Enppi officials contest referee decisions after Al Ahly victory

Following Al Ahly's 3-2 victory over Sharkia Enppi in the Egyptian Premier League, several controversies and organizational updates have emerged.

The Egyptian Football Association's Referees Committee officially upheld referee Mahmoud Nagy's decision to award a penalty to Al Ahly. The committee stated that the foul on player Ashraf Bencharki was valid, though they noted the referee failed to issue a necessary yellow card to the defending player. Meanwhile, Sharkia Enppi President Ayman El-Shariey expressed reservations regarding the referee's report, specifically contesting the red card issued to manager Mohamed Barakat, which the referee described as “disgraceful behavior.”

On the organizational front, El-Shariey clarified that Sharkia Enppi is currently operating through a memorandum of understanding rather than a single formal legal entity, with official establishment procedures ongoing. He also detailed a strategic partnership with Al Ahly regarding players Aktai Abdullah and Ali Mahmoud, noting that the arrangement involves shared interests and penalty clauses to prevent the disclosure of specific financial details.

Despite the loss, El-Shariey expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, highlighting that they competed effectively against a high-spending Al Ahly squad despite missing five key players due to injury.
