Sharon Osbourne Confirms Ozzfest 2027 Return and Defends AI Avatar

Sharon Osbourne announced that the Ozzfest metal festival will be revived in 2027, with the event slated for Villa Park in Birmingham, the stadium where Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath performed their final shows before his death. The official lineup will be revealed later, and organizers are still deciding whether the festival will run for one or two days.

In the same interview, Osbourne responded to criticism of a planned artificial‑intelligence avatar of the late Ozzy Osbourne. She said the project was conceived with Ozzy’s approval, not as a money‑making scheme, and that the digital version will let fans converse with a virtual Ozzy that mimics his voice and personality. Her son Jack Osbourne also defended the initiative.

Ozzfest, first launched in 1996, was known for promoting emerging metal acts and ran intermittently until its last edition in 2018. The revival follows Ozzy’s death on 22 July 2025, 17 days after his farewell concert "Back to the Beginning" at the same venue.
