Sharon Osbourne details Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert and health struggles

Sharon Osbourne has shared new details regarding the final performance of heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne and his health prior to his death. Speaking at a London screening for the upcoming concert film ‘Ozzy and Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning,’ Sharon revealed that Ozzy performed his farewell concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park on July 5, 2025, despite warnings from doctors that the exertion could be fatal.

Ozzy, who died at age 76 just 17 days after the event, suffered from emphysema that made his vocal capabilities and breathing unpredictable. Sharon noted that the severity of his condition was kept private from his children and bandmates. When informed by medical professionals that he had only months to live, Ozzy reportedly expressed a desire to perform one last time to thank his fans rather than live in pain.

The historic event reunited Black Sabbath members Bill Ward, Geezer Butler, and Tony Iommi, and featured performances by Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, and Tool. The concert film documenting the event is scheduled to reach cinemas on October 28.
