Actress Sharon Stone attended the Global Nobel Laureates Assembly on Artificial Intelligence and Nuclear War in Rome from July 14‑16, joining 30 Nobel laureates, former heads of state, security experts and representatives of major AI firms such as OpenAI, Google DeepMind and Anthropic. She spoke to Corriere della Sera about the cerebral hemorrhage she suffered in 2001, saying, “Death is an experience that opens the eyes… I was reincarnated in my body.” Stone added that the ordeal taught her to “stay present” and to value authenticity over reinvention.

At the summit Stone highlighted the dangers of AI, stating that “we are in the early phases of understanding artificial intelligence… technologies must serve humanity, not the opposite.” She participated in the signing of the “Declaration of Rome for a Disarmed and Disarming Peace” that calls for human oversight of AI‑driven systems and nuclear weapons. The declaration, presented in the Campidoglio, underscored the need for ethical governance of emerging technologies.

Stone described herself as a “citizen of the world and mother of three intelligent young men,” emphasizing her shift from Hollywood fame to advocacy for global peace and responsible AI development.
