Sharon Telford drives dog‑transport bus in England

After 25 years operating a mobile play‑bus for children, 56‑year‑old Sharon Telford switched to a new venture in England, driving a converted double‑deck bus that transports up to 15 dogs to a private dog park. The vehicle, called Billy's Bus after the founder’s dog, replaces seats with safety‑harnessed boxes equipped with water bowls and windows for the animals.

Dog owners use the service when they cannot walk their pets; the dogs travel a short test run before joining the program, are monitored by caretakers on board, and are released through a tunnel into a play area where they can run and tackle obstacles. The service has already appeared in a carnival parade and a Disney film commercial and plans to expand nationally.

The business was launched by entrepreneur Laura Mohan and aims to grow its fleet as interest in pet‑friendly transport rises.
