Sharp launches AQUOS wish6 smartphone in Japan and Taiwan

Sharp announced on 5 August 2026 that it will commercialise the basic‑model smartphone AQUOS wish6. The device features a 6.6‑inch HD+ display with 120 Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of about 1,000 nit, allowing clear visibility outdoors. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, paired with 4 GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage (expandable via microSD up to 2 TB), a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The phone’s thin three‑piece body incorporates metal reinforcement for improved bend resistance, complies with U.S. Department of Defense MIL‑STD‑810H standards for water, dust and shock resistance, and includes anti‑fraud features such as a loud alarm, location‑SMS alerts and AI‑driven call‑screening. It will be released sequentially from mid‑September 2026 in Japan and Taiwan, offered in three colours (SORA, KINU, SUMI) with design overseen by Miyake Design.
