Sharp Philippines and Home Credit expand disaster‑relief CSR programs across the Philippines
Sharp Philippines completed a phase of its corporate social responsibility program in Luzon, donating five washing machines, five dryers and one twin‑tub washer to 17 Metro Manila communities for use in evacuation centers. The effort coincided with the production of the company's 11 millionth washing machine and earned recognition from Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval for aid after Typhoon Carina. The company plans to extend similar initiatives to the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
Home Credit Philippines organized a volunteer effort to rebuild the typhoon‑damaged Salvacion Elementary School in Catanduanes. Sixteen staff members renovated four classrooms, installed hand‑washing stations and provided mental‑health awareness training, directly benefiting 128 students and nine school personnel. The reconstruction, carried out with disaster‑relief NGOs All Hands & Hearts and Happy Hearts Czech, is slated for completion by July 2026.
