Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has used the term ‘quockerwodger’ to criticize the Indian government. On social media, Tharoor defined the word as a ‘political puppet, a person who is controlled by someone else and acts on their instructions.’

Tharoor suggested that the ruling party has produced several such individuals over the last twelve years. He is known for using rare or complex English vocabulary to make political points, having previously used terms like ‘allodoxaphobia’ to critique the government.
