Shasta College announces community forums for Measure C bond
Shasta College is hosting community forums to discuss Measure C, the Shasta College Education & Workforce Opportunity Bond. The measure is scheduled to appear on the November 3, 2026, General Election ballot.
Measure C is a $129 million general obligation bond intended to modernize 60-year-old facilities and expand regional public safety support. Proposed projects include a new agriculture classroom, expanded automotive and welding programs, and a new extension site in Corning. The college states that the measure is an extension of the expiring 2002 Measure A bond, meaning the tax rate for taxpayers will not increase. The estimated cost is $7.76 annually per $100,000 of assessed property value.
