Shatta Wale addresses Dancehall King debate and announces 2026 concerts

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has addressed the ongoing debate regarding his status as the ‘Dancehall King’ in relation to his rival, Stonebwoy. During a TikTok Live session, Shatta Wale declined to use award counts to justify his title, instead comparing the recognition of kings to traditional chieftaincy, noting that different people may recognize different leaders based on their origins.

In addition to the debate, Shatta Wale has announced a series of concerts scheduled for September 2026. The performances include a show at Lienda Ville Hostel on September 4 and the Ballers Convention at Kumasi City Mall on September 5. He is also set to headline the Nkrumahfest 2026 Grand Musical Concert on September 20 in the Western Region, an event celebrating the 117th birth anniversary of Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah.
