Shaun Edwards joins Red Roses as coaching consultant

Shaun Edwards has joined the Red Roses in a short-term coaching consultancy role. The former France defence coach will work with the squad through the end of the WXV Global Series, providing expertise ahead of their upcoming Test match against New Zealand.

Edwards, who has won multiple Six Nations titles with Wales and helped France secure a Grand Slam in 2022, expressed interest in working within an international women’s setup. Red Roses head coach John Mitchell noted his respect for Edwards’ career and his eagerness to collaborate with the experienced coach.

Following his successful six-year tenure with the French national team, Edwards has indicated he is open to new offers and intends to be involved in the 2027 Six Nations and World Cup. While his immediate focus is with the Red Roses, there is ongoing discussion regarding his potential future involvement with the England men's setup.
