Shawa confirms split from comedy partner Sammie

The Ugandan comedy duo ‘Sammie and Shawa’ has officially disbanded following a public fallout between the two performers. The split became a matter of public debate after Sammie accused Shawa of being selfish and claiming that Shawa had profited from their joint fame without providing Sammie his fair share of the earnings.

Shawa has responded to these allegations, confirming the end of the partnership. He stated that he is transitioning away from comedy to pursue a career in music, citing insufficient financial returns and a lack of bookings in the comedy sector.

According to Shawa, tensions escalated when he began his musical pursuits. He claims he invited Sammie to participate in his music videos and song premieres, but Sammie did not attend. Shawa further alleged that Sammie demanded a musical verse in his songs as a condition for supporting his new career direction. Shawa indicated that he does not intend to reconcile or work with anyone else in the immediate future, noting that both individuals are now pursuing separate business ventures.
