Shawn Hatosy reflects on Emmy win and cast changes in ‘The Pitt’

Shawn Hatosy, star of the HBO Max medical drama ‘The Pitt’, recently reflected on his Emmy win for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Hatosy, who portrays Dr. Jack Abbot, expressed surprise at the achievement during an Emmy Awards Nominees Celebration, stating that such success was beyond what he imagined as a child.

In addition to his win, Hatosy discussed the emotional challenges of cast departures within the series. He noted that the intense filming environment causes the cast to form a “family” bond, making it difficult when colleagues leave. Despite previous departures, such as Tracy Ifeachor, Hatosy remains optimistic about the show’s future.

‘The Pitt’ has garnered significant recognition, receiving 25 nominations for its second season. The series also features Noah Wyle, who won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series last year. The upcoming third season is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
