Shawn Mendes and Bruna Marquezine volunteer in Rio de Janeiro

Singer Shawn Mendes and Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine recently participated in a volunteer initiative in Rio de Janeiro. The couple joined the ‘Macarrão com Salsicha’ social project, which is organized by the Santa Rita de Cássia Parish in Barra da Tijuca.

During the activity, which took place on August 31, the pair helped distribute 3,315 meals and other items to people experiencing homelessness. Mendes was responsible for distributing water bottles, while Marquezine handed out biscuit packages. The project is a weekly operation, and Marquezine has a pre-existing connection to the cause through her mother, who also volunteers there.

Mendes has been spending significant time in Brazil, staying at Marquezine's residence for nearly two months. He is reportedly setting up a studio in Rio to record a new album inspired by the country.
