Shawn Michaels discusses NXT management and Zilla Fatu
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has addressed the operational challenges of managing the NXT brand, noting that unexpected talent call-ups to the main roster often force the creative team to scramble. Michaels explained that injuries on the main roster can create an immediate need for replacements, sometimes resulting in performers being moved to the main roster without the opportunity to conclude their existing storylines in NXT.
Michaels also commented on the signing and development of Zilla Fatu. He noted that while he had heard positive reports about Fatu from commentator Booker T, the talent required time to develop due to unspecified issues before joining the brand. Michaels highlighted Fatu’s lineage and energy as key assets, stating a goal to help him refine his promotional skills and segment management.
Zilla Fatu, who previously worked in independent promotions like House of Glory, recently spoke about his transition to WWE. Fatu described the learning process as a shift from independent wrestling habits to the technical requirements of television production, such as working with roaming cameras and specific timing.
