Shdw Boxing Gym closes indefinitely following fatal drive-by shooting

Shdw Boxing Gym has announced the indefinite closure of its Logan facility following a drive-by shooting at a recent boxing event. The incident occurred during the Logan City Titles Fight Night held at Fitzy’s pub.

Nineteen-year-old Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau died in intensive care at Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital five days after being shot in the head and neck. Three other men, including Zach Uchtman, Kane Barrett, and Brodie Blackwood, were also shot in the abdomen. While Barrett and Blackwood have been released from the hospital, Uchtman remains under medical care.

Police have launched a homicide investigation to identify the shooters. Co-owner Brad Trevisan stated that the decision to close the gym was made after careful consideration, noting that things do not feel the same following the tragedy.
