Shea Charles has become Northern Ireland’s most expensive footballer following a reported £30m transfer from Southampton to Fulham in the summer of 2026. The 22-year-old midfielder has already integrated into the Fulham squad, starting three of the club's first five Premier League matches this season.

Charles has addressed the scrutiny surrounding his record-breaking price tag, stating he “does not really think about” the fee and instead relies on family and friends to remain grounded. He has earned 35 caps for Northern Ireland since his senior debut in June 2022 and has occasionally worn the captain’s armband under manager Michael O’Neill.

Looking ahead, Charles is focusing on international duty for Northern Ireland’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Georgia, Hungary, and Ukraine.
