Sheamus becomes free agent following WWE contract expiration

Professional wrestler Sheamus has become a free agent following the expiration of his WWE contract in early October 2026. The former multi-time world champion is currently unsigned, though he is reportedly drawing interest from multiple organizations.

Within AEW, several veteran wrestlers who have previously worked with Sheamus are reportedly pushing for the company to sign him. While AEW owner Tony Khan has historically maintained a policy of waiting until talent is fully contractually free before beginning negotiations, the expiration of Sheamus's deal has made discussions possible. However, no substantial negotiations or agreements have been finalized with AEW at this time.

TNA has also expressed interest in bringing the veteran to their roster. Reports suggest that Sheamus's departure from WWE may have been influenced by a request from the company to accept a pay cut. He is currently operating under the name S. Farrelly on social media.
