Shedeur Sanders draws attention as backup for Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has drawn social media attention following his sideline demeanor during a Thursday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Observers noted Sanders appeared unhappy while remaining in a backup role behind starter Deshaun Watson.

Watson maintained his position as the team's starter with a strong performance against the Steelers, completing 14 of 17 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown in the first half. This performance follows recent victories over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers, reinforcing head coach Todd Monken’s decision to keep Sanders on the bench.

Sanders, the son of former professional athlete and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders and former model Pilar Sanders, entered the NFL via the 2025 draft. While fans on social media have speculated about potential trades due to his perceived frustration, no official changes to the Browns' depth chart have been announced.
