Sheffield Housing Company begins construction on 41 Shirecliffe council homes

Construction has officially commenced on a new development of 41 council homes in the Shirecliffe area of Sheffield. The project is being led by the Sheffield Housing Company (SHC), a joint venture between Sheffield City Council, Keepmoat, and Great Places Housing Group.

The development will consist of a mix of one, two, three, and four-bedroom properties designed to address local housing demands. Sheffield City Council has committed to purchasing all 41 homes, with the majority intended for affordable rent and a portion designated for shared ownership. The scheme has received part-funding from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.

This initiative marks SHC’s 18th development and follows similar strategies implemented in the Manor Neighbourhood, where nearly 100 homes were recently acquired by the council and Great Places Housing Group to enhance local communities.
