Sheffield Wednesday signs Kenyan midfielder Tyler Onyango from Everton

Sheffield Wednesday have completed the free transfer of 23‑year‑old Kenyan midfielder Tyler Onyango, formerly of Everton. He signed a three‑year contract after impressing on trial, and the club’s sporting director Simon Wilson said the deal fits their need for value and versatility, as Onyango can also play in defence. The signing marks Wednesday’s 13th addition of the summer and follows his previous loan spell at Stockport County, which was limited by injuries.

The club has also been linked with Championship striker Isaac Olaofe. The 26‑year‑old is currently on loan at Lincoln City from Charlton Athletic and was reported as a potential target before the September 1 transfer deadline. Wednesday are seeking to bolster their attacking options, but will explore other alternatives if the move does not materialise.
