Sheikh Ahmad Gumi denies allegations of marriage interference

Nasiru Musa Idris has accused prominent Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi of interfering in his marriage to a Moroccan woman and obstructing security agencies from investigating her alleged abduction.

Idris claims the dispute began when Gumi insisted he obtain an additional marriage certificate from a Sharia Court, despite Idris possessing documentation from Morocco, the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Nigerian embassy. Idris alleges that Gumi subsequently sought the separation of the marriage and attempted to thwart law enforcement investigations into his wife's disappearance.

Sheikh Gumi has categorically denied the allegations, asserting that the claims are unfounded. He has expressed his intention to pursue legal action against Idris for defamation.
