Sheikh Sabri vows Palestinians will never abandon Al‑Aqsa on resistance anniversary

On the ninth anniversary of the 2017 Bab al‑Esbat resistance—when Israeli police removed electronic search doors from the Al‑Aqsa Mosque’s entrances—Sheikh Sabri, the mosque’s Imam, said the Palestinian people will never relinquish the holy site. He highlighted the event as a turning point that affirmed Islamic sovereignty over Al‑Aqsa and condemned recent Israeli violations, stating that such actions do not give the occupier any legitimate claim. Sabri called on the wider Muslim community to assume responsibility for defending the shrine, emphasizing that Al‑Aqsa remains the third holiest site in Islam and must stay under Palestinian guardianship.
