Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir denies hostility toward Christians

Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), has denied allegations of hostility toward Christians. Speaking at a national symposium in Jos, Jingir stated that recent controversial remarks attributed to him following a mass wedding ceremony in Kano were misinterpreted.

Jingir emphasized that Islamic teachings mandate fairness and justice toward people of all faiths. He noted that leadership in Islam does not permit discrimination or cheating non-Muslims, citing the peaceful coexistence demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad as a model.

Addressing political leaders, including President Bola Tinubu and various state governors, Jingir called for equitable governance that transcends religious, ethnic, and political affiliations. He urged public office holders to lead with justice and avoid unfair treatment of any citizens.
