Sheikh Tahnoon-linked investors hold 49% stake in World Liberty Financial bank entity

Investors linked to Abu Dhabi royal Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed al Nahyan reportedly hold a 49% stake in WLTC Holdings, the entity created for World Liberty Financial’s planned banking business. According to reports, StringZ Holding RSC, which is backed by Sheikh Tahnoon and other investors, owns the 49% stake, while a Trump family-linked entity controls 38%.

This ownership structure follows a previous $500 million investment by the UAE-linked group into World Liberty, which reportedly granted them a 49% interest in the company and directed approximately $263 million to Trump family entities.

Concurrently, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has granted preliminary conditional approval for the company to establish a federally chartered national trust bank. The bank is intended to manage USD1, a dollar-backed stablecoin with a market value of approximately $4 billion. The company must still fulfill additional OCC requirements before the bank can begin operations.
