Sheikh Usman ibn Faruq scheduled for event in North Macedonia

Sheikh Usman ibn Faruq, an Islamic preacher based in the United States and associated with the One Message Foundation, is scheduled to hold a special evening event at the Grand Mosque in Kumánovo, North Macedonia, on August 27, 2026.

Ibn Faruq is a controversial figure who has been denied entry to several NATO member nations and other territories. The United Kingdom banned his entry in May 2025, citing that his presence was ‘not in the public interest’ following reports regarding his views on Islamic law. Canada also denied him entry in October 2025 for a planned speaking tour, citing links to criminal organizations, a claim he has contested. Additionally, Trinidad and Tobago classified him and his group as ‘undesirable’ in June 2024.

While some within the Islamic community debate whether his teachings are radical or simply ultra-conservative Salafism, his international travel has been significantly restricted by various government authorities.
