Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Expected to Fetch Over $25 Million at Pebble Beach Auction

The 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe (chassis CSX2300), the third of only six built, was the sole example ever owned by Carroll Shelby. After being restored to its 1965 specification, the car will be offered at Gooding & Christie’s Pebble Beach auction in August 2026. The auction house anticipates a sale price in excess of $25 million. Designed to help Ford challenge Ferrari’s dominance, the Cobra Daytona raced at the 1964 Tour de France Automobile and continued competing in Japan through 1968, boasting a 4.7‑liter V‑8 producing 385 hp and a top speed of up to 196 mph.
