Shelly expands smart home ecosystem with new camera and Brilliant integration

Shelly has announced several expansions to its smart home ecosystem, including the launch of its first security camera and a new integration with the Brilliant platform.

The Shelly Camera offers Full HD (1080p) video with a 110-degree horizontal field of view and night vision. Notably, the device allows for local storage via microSD cards (up to 512 GB) and live streaming without requiring a mandatory monthly subscription. While cloud-based AI object recognition and storage remain paid options, the camera supports local automation and integration with platforms such as Home Assistant, Frigate NVR, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings via RTSP, MQTT, and WebRTC.

Additionally, Shelly is integrating its Bluetooth sensors—including motion and door/window sensors—and its relay lineup with Brilliant NextGen. This integration allows Brilliant users to sync Shelly devices via direct Bluetooth or a Bluetooth-to-Wi-Fi gateway to enable real-time motion and occupancy awareness for smarter home automations.
