Shelter dogs Babydoll and Daisy await permanent homes

Shelter dogs Babydoll and Daisy are gaining attention as they continue to wait for permanent homes. Babydoll, an 8-year-old rescue, has spent over a year in a shelter. Despite a difficult arrival, she remains affectionate and is described as house and crate trained, though she may be better suited for homes without cats or small animals.

Daisy, a five-year-old dog whose owners never returned for her, was recently celebrated by shelter volunteers with a dog-friendly birthday cake. To encourage her adoption, the shelter has waived her adoption fee through August 31. Both cases highlight the ongoing challenges in animal rescues, where adult and senior dogs often face longer wait times for adoption than puppies.
