Shen Po-yang criticized for evasive political responses

Yin Wei, chairman of the Taipei City Research Institute, has criticized legislator and potential Taipei mayoral candidate Shen Po-yang for allegedly avoiding substantive political questions. Yin accused Shen of a pattern of providing evasive answers, using the term “Yang-escape” (a play on Shen's name) to describe his tendency to dodge topics such as toxic oil incidents, Neihu flooding, and energy policy.

During a campaign visit to Bihu Park, Shen responded to the criticism by stating, “Let’s just hope Chiang [Wan-an] doesn't listen.” Yin remarked that this response further demonstrated Shen's inability to provide direct answers to specific inquiries, suggesting that Shen treats political questioning as a contest of wordplay rather than a platform for policy discussion.
