Shen Po-yang outlines three key priorities during Taipei mayoral debate

During a two hour mayoral debate in Taipei, candidate Shen Po-yang presented his platform, centered on the slogan “You speak, I do.” He emphasized a collaborative approach to governance, citing his “Municipal Debug Hackathon” as an example of using collective intelligence to solve urban issues.

Shen outlined three primary objectives if elected: first, restoring urban greenery through dedicated laws and funding to rebuild public trust; second, addressing child abuse cases by ensuring immediate institutional accountability and supporting frontline social workers; and third, improving school nutrition programs by adjusting budgets to match inflation and reducing administrative burdens on teachers.

Following the debate, legal experts provided feedback on his performance. One lawyer suggested that Shen needs to slow his speaking pace to improve clarity during live broadcasts and advised against holding a pen while answering questions to avoid appearing overly sharp or distracting to viewers.
