Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou cluster ranks first in global innovation index

The Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou innovation cluster has retained its position as the world's top-ranked innovation cluster according to the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Global Innovation Index. The ranking is based on three core metrics: PCT international patent applications, scientific paper publications, and venture capital transaction volume.

To support this ecosystem, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation has launched the “Co-creation and Co-investment Industry Acceleration Summit.” During the event, the corporation announced the first batch of investments from its HK$500 million “Co-creation and Co-investment Acceleration Fund.” This private fund, managed by a statutory body, focuses on Pre-A to A-round startups in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics/electronics, and new materials.

The initial recipients of the fund include companies specializing in areas such as hydrogen energy and static thermoelectric conversion technology. These initiatives aim to leverage Hong Kong’s status as an international financial center and talent hub alongside the Greater Bay Area’s strengths in advanced manufacturing and industrial scaling.
