Shenzhen's Luohu Library and Youth Activity Center opens
A new public facility combining a library and a youth activity centre has been completed in the Luohu district of Shenzhen, China. The 7,707 m² complex, designed by Shenzhen Huahui Design + iDEA under the direction of architect Xiao Cheng, follows the concept “stacking mountains, stratifying the city”. It seeks to blend the area's extensive natural landscape with the dense urban fabric, providing permeability, openness and spatial breathing within a high‑capacity cultural hub.
The project aims to enhance the distinctive character of the site while energising the surrounding city, offering a spacious, adaptable environment for community use. Completion is scheduled for 2025, with the design details published on 27 July 2026.
